When FREE Haul Away is not Free

The products advertisement says haul away is free but it isnt free unless later on the customer selects selects a button to view Haul Away Services and then selects Haul Away. I believe this additional requirement is misleading. LG should recount the customers selections before the order is completed. The new machine was delivered but hauler refused to take the old unit.

Multiple failures and repair costs in 7 years

Do not purchase this expensive paperweight We bought this washer in 2018 and less than 4 years later had to call a tech to come replace the water pump due to a Drain Error message. $350 later we were able to use our washer for a whole 1 and a half years before we got the same error message and had to pay another $300 to replace the replacement water pump. Here we are exactly 1 and a half years after the 2nd repair and we are receiving the same Drain Error message. We contacted customer service through multiple channels who gave us the same scripted response with helpful tips. I regularly drain the washer and clean the filter leave the door and detergent door open after washes as recommended and follow all recommended steps. None of these tips prevented 3 water pumps failing in 7 years. We have an LG washer dryer and fridge and will never buy another LG product again.

Moldy doesnt last expensive to fix in warranty

Constantly has mold growing inside makes clothes stink and have to run multiple cycles also only covered for 1 year if something breaks so now my 3 year old unit needs a motor replacement already which they cover the part for 10 years but labor is $400 flat rate to repair. Go with a different brand

We have only owned this washer for five years and the bearings are shot they started going bad after three years and the fix is too expensive to make it worthwhile. It also has constant odors regardless of how often we clean it and empty the drain. Do not recommend.

Disappointing

Bought this washer in late 2021 and it made it almost 4 years. Had a few minor problems with codes and such that I guess are possibly the users fault for not checking the drain filter as often as needed. But after less than 4 years for the bearings in the rear of the drum housing to come apart without any warning or reason. Never had any problems with unbalanced loads like in our previous machines. Then one day it just started howling on spin cycle. As the days went by the sound got louder and louder. So i bought the parts and repaired myself this past weekend and now itss like new again. Just as a side note the parts from Amazon were $38 the ones on LG website were $140. Not very customer friendly for a customer who bought your machine. All and all I would say that this is not surprising to me out of big business. All Hail Amazon and the ability to do things for yourself. Hopefully I will get another 4 years or more out of this thing.

Avoid this washer - and probably LG

We bought this washer at the end of May 2024. In June 2025 it broke. Since then I have literally been adding buckets of water throughout the cycles for it to at least do SOMETHING. Water does not stay in the tub. All it does is spin contents around while they get slightly damp from the splash up from the small amount of water that goes into the basin under the tub. We already replaced the water level pressure sensor $40 for the part. Water does run into the machine - including through the soap dispenser tray. It drains just fine. Audible water entering and exiting the machine. Both hot and cold water have the same issue. It is not a hook up error. It is a machine error. I havent decided if its worth trying to change the inlet valves about $100 for each type. But because both water temps are issues more than likely its the control board - which isnt worth fixing about $400 for the part. This washer is a waste of $800. I am trying to at least get some value out of it by adding the buckets - to not waste even more money by having to go to the laundromat despite having a less than 2 year old washing machine. LG doesnt know how to make a washer apparently. Seriously. Avoid this junk. I pretty much never do reviews - but I am trying to warn people to not waste their money and time on this junk.

Washer developed a leak from the dispenser area. Two factory service calls amounting to the total cost of the washer without resolution of the issue. Contacted LG CS. They said to clean it more frequently: didnt help. Decided to replace washer with another brand.

Very happy six months in

We have had this machine for six months since December 2024. So far it is a great machine. Our clothes are clean the machine is quiet and the chime at the end of the cycle is pleasant and reminds us the load is finished. We leave the door and compartment open at the end of the cycle to keep the machine mold and mildew free and have had no odor issues. The only downside that I can see is that if you wash something bigger and heavier such as a large blanket or light comforter the machine moves out of place while it spins due to the weight. I havent put any really heavy comforters in it just a light one. But its not a big deal.

This washer quit working after 8 months. LG customer service would not honor the warranty. Horrible washer design. The intake hoses are obo e the access panel. Any hose leak drips and goes into the motor area. Customer service made several excuses to void the warranty.

Unsafe and refused to honor warranty

Machine performance was so-so worse than my previous machine but I guess washer quality is generally getting worse over time. Less than 7 months after purchase still under warranty the glass in my machine spontaneously exploded early in the morning while the machine was off and nobody was around thankfully spreading glass through my laundry room. This is apparently a known issue and almost every seller has reports about this issue including other reviews here. They sent out a rude technician who took a couple pictures then accused me of customer abuse even though the technician didnt examine the glass and isnt an expert in defective glass anyway. The fact that they dont spend a tiny amount to laminate or coat the glass to protect users is crazy to me. The idea that they would just refused to analyze the glass and jumped straight to accusing me of abusing the product without any credible evidence says all I need to know about their penny-pinching customer-hostile mentality. Buy better appliances from a company that wont screw you over.

Does not clean clothes

My clothes are smellier coming out of this washing machine than going in. We requested a return and they performed unnecessary repairs but would not give a refund. The machine does not clean clothes even though ours was functioning as designed. We had to buy another washing machine because this is the worst washing machine I have ever had and their customer service is awful especially if you buy through Home Depot.

Leaking repair costs almost what machine did

The washer worked fine for 3 years almost exactly then it started leaking. The warrenty does not cover this. It ruined my floors. LG customer service is hard to use and the minimum cost of repair is $400. That price is only if you are willing to pay them before they give you a time estimate for the repair.

Developed a Leak

We have had this washing machine for approximately two to three years. Its now leaking. Absolutely disappointed that a $700+ washing machine has developed a leak in such a short time. Abhorrent. I will never buy another LG product as a result of this. Now I must take it apart to find the issue to I can fix it. I was hapoy with ths drive motor warranty but damg if the rest of it isnt garbage. Its just dumping water at this point. What a piece of trash.

We had a 5 year warranty and the technician tells us actually that warranty is just for the motor not the computer. So now he says we need to buy some circuit board for $800+ to repair this trash machine. NEVER BUY LG. They robbed us.

Fire hazard

My LG front load washing machine caught fire and almost burned down my house. I got in touch with the company. They sent me to the presidential liaisons department which is staffed by people like.Nikia who is the rudest person I have ever talked to representing a company of LG size in my life she was condescending rude and would not let me speak every time I tried to talk. She spoke over me. The washing machine has a sticker on the front 10 year drivetrain warranty my drivetrain literally caught fire melting inside my machine. The amount of water used to put it out ruined the delicate dryer which was also an LG product underneath it. I reached out to them for assistance. They sent me to the presidential liaison department where they were unable and unwilling to help me with my situation they told me they could pay for the part and put it into a burned out shell of a machine that was left. I told them that was unacceptable and I would not want a machine in my house that had been on fire I have been fighting with them and texting ever since to try to get somebody in the company of authority to call me back and rectify this problem to this state they have not they have completely blown me Off

Leaking on day 13

I was excited to get this. It worked well but cycles are so long. It takes 90 minutes to wash 4 pair of jeans. It is pretty quiet but makes more noise than our old one did when new. Our last LG lasted 12 years without issue but the bearings wore out. We got this and washed a load or two a day. Thirteen days after we got it it started to leak. We read the manual and it said it could be a clogged air vent from not running tub wash enough and to run tub wash. We did and it leaked and not from the air vent. We contacted LG on day 4 and they had us take photos and videos and run tub clean again and then told us to tighten a clamp UNDERNEATH the washer I asked for repair personnel to do that since I was not strong enough to get it out of the drip try and turn it over. I was told they only send repair personnel for certain things. Apparently a leaking washer doesnt rate. I said I wanted them to take it back. It was exactly 14 days after I received it. They argued it was 15. How? I showed them the receipt that said I had until the 10th to return it and they said I didnt. Huh? I spent 1 hour and 49 minutes on the phone. Finally they agreed to take it back. Honestly all they had to do was send a repair person. LG used to be wonderful. Every single appliance I own is LG but no more. Very sad. It seemed like a nice machine.

I converted from from top load to front load washers with this machine. There is no longer any top load machine with a base frame that would stabilize the machine and have a quieter operation. I own this LG front load for 1 year so far and I am pleased with the washers very quiet operation. Lack of an agitator means less punishment on my clothes. Even with the laundry door open I can hardly hear the machine operating with minimal floor vibration. Clothes come out almost dry with the high rotating speed around 1300 rpm compared to 700 rpm for a front load machine. The machine works very well. I gave 4 stars because the control panel is not backlit so it is hard to see the settings. Without the backlight I thought the washer was defective I would have liked a setting of spin only - for items handwashed and needing a good spin only

I have had this machine for 2 weeks and now Im regretting purchasing. This replaced my 16 yo whirlpool front loader which I loved. Washed a load of towels and couldnt see any water. Washed a normal cycle clothes came out almost as dry as they went in. How do I get more water? Where does the water enter the tub from? My old one you could see it coming in. What is the 6M cleaning? I dont see it doing anything other than going around. I looked for a while and for the price point this one would be fine. So far NOT

I purchased this 3 years ago because I had a similar LG model for several years and never had a problem. So far no problems with this one. The only thing I dont like about this one is that I really should have a pedestal to make it easier to unload--it takes quite a bend and reach to get all of the items out. Does a wonderful job though.

I will stick with a washboard and a washtub instead of having this machine boil my clothes. A repair person already fixed it to make sure the hoses or wires werent crossed. Its still shooting hot water even if we select the cold setting I will update this review if anything changes. Otherwise run

Vibrates Terrible

This washing machine vibrates my entire house while in the spin mode. Ive done everything from running lights loads to of course balancing the loads and leveling the legs on the machine. Uncertain as to why this is occurring as my previous Samsung front loader never had an issue.

Its fine I guess. It was already in the house when I bought the house. It doesnt have an agitator so that helps keep clothes looking newer than they would if you washed them in a machine with an agitator. If your clothes are covered in mud or really dirty you would have to wash them twice. Im told this machine doesnt use much electricity or much water compared to older machines with agitators.

I wanted a good basic washer didnt feel that I needed any fancy things like steam or an app on my phone. This works fairly well but a part of me misses dials that I can physically turn as you can set things a lot faster than this digital display. The washer cleans everything very well even on medium spin cycle wrings a lot of water out to make drying faster. I wish there was a way to change the defaults when I turn it on because I never use the default that LG created.

This is my one month review of this LG frontloading washer. Yes I have used it a full month and the machine has performed well. One month is not enough time to explore the multiple functions available here but I am impressed with the solid performance so far. The laundry comes out clean and very wringed out. This saves on dryer time and more efficient energy usage. In use the washing action is very solid and the spinning action balanced. I think this may be a long term durable item.

I love my LG . However the dispenser sometimes fills with water . I do open the bottom latch on the bottom of the washer to drain the water and clean the little basket . Now when I pull out the tiny hose that drains the water there is no water coming out and the basket seems to have more water coming out in it .

I bought this to replace a Samsung washer that was getting too expensive to repair. On arrival one of the water inlet valves was broken but the repairman came out quickly and everything was covered under the warranty. The washer works great has a quick washer feature for lightly soiled clothes and it spins fast so the clothes are close to dry when it finishes.

Im so happy with this new and beautiful washing machine. I wish I could give it six stars instead of five. Its just designed very well and has all the features I could want for my home laundry and its very easy to operate. I have to say it attractive too. I installed it myself without any issues. It does a great job at washing clothes just yesterday. I use the quick wash feature and I had clean clothes in 15 minutes. Ive also had blankets that I havent washed for years and I finally got them clean in this beautiful washer. Im very happy with my new Christmas gift to the family.
