Nice looking disappointing ice maker

A Nice looking and roomie fridge ice maker its slow at producing ice Even at fast setting has small volume on dispenser and every few months The whole ice made first stops working because it freezes into a block making it very difficult to remove without making a huge mess after removing it and thawing it out in the sink and then drying it completely and reinstalling it multi-hour process it works fine again. But the main issue now after owning the fridge for a year and a half it has developed brown corrosion on the lower right corner of the ice/water dispenser white paint was not applied properly to the edge of the opening so the bare metal has begun to corrode and customer service has conveniently told us that its not cover under warranty so the review should be one star based on that no effort to send someone and try to at least do something about it basically live with a white fridge that has a large brown spot ever growing right in front of one of the doors... Not happy with that

I bought this 27 sqft refrigerator at the beginning of the year and it has served us exceptionally since then. The large square footage has provided us with ample room. The only complaint I have is the non adjustable shelves in the refrigerator side. There have been bottles taller than the heights between shelves allowed. This doesnt occur on the freezer side. I particularly like the ice crusher on the freezer side. It is used several times in the course of a day.

I purchased it in 2022 and have had no problems with it. The ice maker keeps plenty of ice on hand. It took me a moment to figure out how it all works but I am really glad that I made this purchase. It was a little large the one I had before but the extra space makes it much easier to find items in the refrigerator and it does not look so messy. Love the 2 sections of ice cubes with when I get water from the from. I got it in white put it is easy to keep clean. I would recommend it to anyone looking a a spacey refrigerator and freezer.

Our previous LG refrigerator died so we went shopping for another one. I had specific requirements 1 outside water and ice dispenser 2 ice maker in the freezer door 3 lights in front so they arent blocked by food. Only 2 brands had all these and the other brand was not recommended by anyone. While I like my LG the changes they have made from the previous model are mostly negative. Previously I could dispense water or ice by just pushing on the correct lever. Now I have to toggle between crushed ice cubed ice and water. This is a royal pain since my husband is constantly using ice and I almost never use ice. It also doesnt seem to dispense very well. Another change is only 4 shelves instead of the previous 5 in both the freezer and refrigerator and the ones in the freezer are not adjustable at all. They extended the bottom bin in both the freezer and refrigerator but that eliminated a door shelf in both. They also moved the controls inside the refrigerator so now you have to hold the refrigerator door open to make adjustments and I cant find a way to turn off the alarm that sounds when they think youve held the door open too long. Please If you cant make IMPROVEMENTS leave things alone

I bought a side by side refrigerator. The first one delivered was damaged and they sent another direct from the manufacturer within a short time. I had a shelf freak thing happen and a plastic piece broke off of recently. Within two days I had a replacement for it. They have done excellent in their customer service. I have had this frig for a while now. I love just about everything in this frig the only drawback I can find is the ice maker. It doesnt keep up with the demand. I contacted LG customer support they suggested turning the freezer temp down to -3or -4 degrees and turn the ice plus on. Which I did it didnt make that much difference. The ice bin only fills halfway even when there is no ice demand.

Since I bought the LG 8/26/22. It started making several different noises e.g knocking intermittently. LG sent 2 different repair companies to no avail. The 5 year warranty I bought they told me that it is a preexisting condition therefore the warranty does not cover it. The VP of LG contacted me after I made several calls. So far no resolution.

Great Fridge Horrible Manual

The fridge itself is great just a few nit-picky things though: - Im 510 and the handles to the fridge are a tad too low for me but my wife loves it - The information in the manual that came with the fridge is too generic to be of much help. I tried finding instructions for my exact model of fridge online but theyre non-existent and LG basically forces you to use generalized documentation based on fridge model type number of doors layout etc. This caused me to waste about an hour and half because I was unable to setup my fridge with the smart features. The setup instructions provided in the manual were impossible to follow for my model because they required downloading the app setting up wifi finding and pressing buttons on the fridge that turns out dont actually exist etc. It took getting on a call with customer service for a long while sending pictures of where supposed wifi buttons were expected to be and a bunch of other nonsense to eventually come to the conclusion that my specific model isnt as smart as led on to be. There wasnt a wifi button there was no setup to even be done even though the manual and installers said there were etc. I looked up forums for my model on LGs site and it looks like quite a few people have run into this issue and ultilmately given up. Id strongly advice LG to at least respond to people in forums asking these same questions and let them know. Not a single rep responded to all the inquries for exactly what Im sharing about this model.

Fantastic refrigerator fantastic freezer. Both do an excellnt job in raising the temperature of new purchases and maintaining the temperature of the stored items. The most disappointing feature is the constant level of noise emitted throughout the process of making and replacing ice cubes. I suspect that there is little insulation around that part of the freezer. Otherwise this is an excellent appliance.

Never cooled properly from the beginning. Ice machine never made Amy quantity of ice had to use ice trays to keep up with ice usage from a 4 person family. Entire unit stopped working at 18 months old lg did not offer any help as it was out of its 1 year factory warranty. So my now 2 year old brand new refrigerator is laying in a scrap yard.

We have only had for a few weeks but so far so good overall. We love how roomy it is and like the large shelving in the door. After having a worn out fridge this is amazing. Some features that I may deem unsuitable now may just take getting used to after having the same style for so many years. Like not having dedicated space for the eggs. Also love how the shelving is clear so you can see better into the drawer. As long as you dont open the main door all the way back it will close automatically. Another nice feature that will take time to get used to as it shuts pretty hard behind you. The drawer handles are on the bottom of the drawer so we have to bend over farther than I would like to open and close. The handle on the exterior of the fridge takes some getting used to. I am seriously thinking about adding something to the drawers so we dont have to bend over so far. The only true negative not just a feature to get used to is the mess the ice dispenser makes. You have to use a pretty wide receptacle to catch all of the strays so they dont end up on the floor. Their is no drip tray. It is just flat. I realize all refrigerators probably do this to a degree but this one is way worse than our previous older fridge. Helps if you remember to stand there for a few seconds before removing your glass. I started using large measuring cup.

I have enjoyed my LG refrigerator. It is large enough to hold everything I need. One bad thing is that the dispenser to the ice maker has frozen up 3 times. They are going to replace the seal and that should take care of it. They also need to inform you that the plug for the refrigerator is on the top of the fridge. My fridge has to sit farther from the wall than I would prefer because it wont slide under my cabinet.

I am so happy with my new refrigerator. It is a nice looking functional and white. I prefer white appliances but they are not easy to find White looks clean to me. The two types of ice in the door dispenser are small cubes and crushed along with purified water. To access you press the select word and stop on the pictured item that you want. The two refrigerator drawers have a lip on the bottom-front of the drawer which is different from the usual drawers. I think I like it better. There is no butter bin. There is a lip on both the freezer and refrigerator doors rather than handles. I recommend this purchase.

I bought this refreigerator around March 2023 and am not happy with it. The ice maker has an on/off button that doesnt work. If I dont empty the ice bucket everey 2-3 days the bucket overfills and cubes freeze together and have to defrost by unplugging the refrigerator so the cubes will defrost and despence. The refrig shelves are too close to the floor at the bottom and have to stand on my head to get anything out of them. The door handles are awkward to use. Very displeased.

I bought this unit in June 2023 and had no problems with it until two weeks ago. I noticed that food was starting spoil before the expiration dates - mold started growing on cheese an unopened carton of milk started to sour after 3 days lettuce and tomatoes lost crispness leftovers spoiling faster to mention a few issues. The digital display in the fridge displayed 0 and 37 degrees freezer/fridge/ I checked those readings against those from a testing laboratorys calibrated analog thermometer which showed The digital control panel in the unit showed 0 degrees Fahrenheit in the freezer and 37 degrees Fahrenheit in the fridge unit. I checked the temperatures against a calibrated thermometer from a testing laboratory and: Fridge 42F Freezer 5F - both readings off by 5 degrees. I called customer service last Sunday where I was able to finally get to someone who emailed me a link to some online as to how to lower the temperatures. This purchase still should be covered under warranty

Have had this frig for about 6 months. While we like the storage space there are a few design flaws that I definitely DO NOT like. 1 Ice/Water Dispenser - This is a pain as far as making the selection for ice cubes/water/crushed. Definitely prefer having separate methods of selecting ice vs water. The biggest PAIN is there is NO drip collection for splashes of water AND the ice tends to fall all over the place during dispensing. The ice cube auger also tends to get clogged easily... have to change selection to crushed to free up and then back to cubes.. if this doesnt work have to remove the ice container from inside frig and shake it up. 2 Smooth White Front Exterior - Definitely dont like the smooth white finish especially since we have cats.. hair sticks to it like a glove 3 No Handles - The handle less design may look sleek but is a total PAIN to clean Would I buy this model again? No probably not...but would likely stick with a Side-By-Side Design.

I bought this to replace another brand that had many problems within the first 1 1/2 years. Although I like the refrigerator my concerns are the size of the ice container in the freezer and the ability to open the bottom draw in the freezer. The ice container is much smaller than any I ever had. The bottom draw in the freezer was impossible to open as it hit the door when I opened it. Thanks to a wonderful repair man he gave me about 1/8th of an inch. Not too good but with care it works. As a last observation why is the handle of this draw on the bottom instead of the top? It means reaching down to the floor in order to open it. For the good news the amount of space is wonderful throughout the refrigerator and freezer and it seems to hold its temperature well. I am enjoying the product. Thank you.

Our old refrigerator was a side-by-side. It had white wood panels that matched the cabinets next to it. We ordered a white one to match our cabinets. It was a little bigger than our old one but not a problem In fact we can fit more food with this one. All the features on the unit are very organized and straightforward. Only problem is the lower vegetable drawers in both refrigerator and freezer. The drawers are accessed through a glass lid. The drawers protrude towards door opening. The glass on top of the doors can easily break if something above falls on them. I had that happen twice had to order new glass to replace. Should be a warranty Item stuck paying LG should redesign those drawers to correct this issue

Great fridge faulty shelfs

I have had this fridge for about a year and a half. This morning my 9 yr old opened the freezer and the bottom shelf over the drawer just shattered into 1000 pieces. The glass is now in the drawer on top of the food down the back and even in my floor in front of the freezer. I have been on chat with LG all morning and with no help. I live this refrigerator but this was scary. It could have really hurt my child and for that this gets 3 stars. I dont feel as if the agar ya I spoke with were too concerned about the matter.

Explosive Glass in Freezer

I bought this refrigerator 15 months ago. At first I liked it minus the fact that organization of the refrigerator side wasnt great but I bought some containers. Then out of the blue the glass on the bottom freezer drawer exploded. It was everywhere. When I went online today to see about getting it replaced I see that someone else reported the EXACT SAME just 8 days ago. I reached out only to be told that my warranty is for 1 year on everything and its over 3 months past it will not be covered. Its obviously a defect and a dangerous one but I have to pay to replace it and HOPE that it will not happen again.

I have had this fridge for about 2 years. The other day I opened the freezer the bottom shelf just shattered. The glass went all in the drawer on top of the food down the back sides bottom. The drawer would no long slide it took hours of messing around with a shop vac paint mixing stick before it would come out. LG wouldnt replace the part but more than anything didnt seem to care that it might be a safety feature. Especially with small kids. I would not recommend this fridge for that purpose alone.

I purchased this refrigerator about a year ago. Looks nice in the kitchen and worked well up until last month. The sides of the refrigerator became so hot I could not touch them and of course it quit working. After calling the warranty department a service call was scheduled for the next day but that call was cancelled after setting home all day waiting for the repair person to arrive. Then received a call advising the next service appointment was a week later. Fortunately the service tech showed up after only 4 days long time to be without a working refrigerator of course parts needed to be ordered so we were still left without a working appliance for another 4 days. Long and short is the frig is repaired but I still have concerns about this happening again after the warranty is expired. Overall this is a nice refrigerator plenty of room and while I do like the ice dispenser in the door it takes along time to make a full bin of ice.

Ive been using my new Side by side 27cu for 2 weeks now. It keeps stuff frozen and cold with consistent temperature. Theres plenty space. It has a few drawers but I wish it had more. It runs quiet but every so often I hear a loud pop and I wonder where it comes from. The ice- and water-dispenser work fine so far.

This is a great fridge. Roomy sleek modern. But the one thing I wanted was a nice ice maker. I am the only ice user in the house and it cant keep up with me. My older frig didnt have a problem. Even when the ice is set on the max ice setting its not any better. Very disappointed. If you need an effective ice maker this is not your frig.

The bad news: The compressor in the unit expired and we lost a lot of food. The good news: The unit was still within warranty... by less than two weeks. It has since been repaired and we wait to see how long the new compressor lasts.

I bought this refrigerator less than a month ago and I absolutely hate it. The ice make is the worst ice maker I have ever had in a refrigerator. It does not even produce enough of ice for my family of 4. I am having to purchase ice on a regular basis. I would totally return the refrigerator if I had someone that could move it for me.
