The oven works great and we are happy with it. We had to get replacement grates, for the stove, because they were bent up and not parallel. They sent replacement grates, The replacement grates were still bent and not parallel, but they were better than the ones that came with the oven.

Arrived with heavy damage on one side, only found when packaging was removed. I spent most of a day to remove the damaged side panels and brackets to straighten and pound out the dents. Not happy!

Got it for a client,,it was actually damaged,,couldn't see until unpacking, AT CLIENTS PLACE,,but it works well,the client had issues with lowering the flame,,hey just be grateful we got it here in hawaii, 2 weeks early,,all is well,,thanks

So far so good. The metal grids above flame are higher than on my old gas range which seems to take a little longer to boil water etc. Also, I didn™™t know that new gas ranges have electric starts, so I had to get an electrician to put in a new outlet. The little window on oven door is cute and theoretically useful with oven light.

My apartment management installed this new gas stove. Works great but I'm surprised that with today's technology there is no temperature indicator for the oven. And the number settings for both the burners and oven could be better positioned for easier viewing.

Three of the four igniters fell through the surface of range due to the deterioration, in time, of the flanges holding the igniters. The grates deteriorate and fall off in places resulting in scratched cookware. On a more positive note the oven kept the temperature true. I liked the oven enough though to order it again in spite if its flaws.

if you don't have anything good to say don't say anything at all.......the oven seems to keep temmperature, that was the problem with my vintage stove, and that my friends is where the admiration stops.
The burners have literally no simmer adjustment, if you unplug the power to the stove you can get it down, but who wants to that for that! The rings around the burners are so cheap they will never see a clean appearance in the life of this creature, its a bad way to spend 700 dollars and if someone fron amana would come to pick it up it wouuld be my best day ever, you see when you live in a tiny cabin for a few months there aren't many appliances, so it might be nice to have a new one that was stellar, no such luck here!

We generally really like our stove. We upgraded from a 20 year old Hotpoint, so there have been some significant improvements in that time. We like the window, and the fact that it actually fits a half baking sheet with the door fully closed. The only real downside is that the burners do not go low enough. Even the ™low™ setting on the small burners will cook off the water from rice before the top of the pot is cooked. I have had to seriously adjust my cooking and have burned a fair number of dishes along the way.

The stove works well enough but unfortunately has a critical flaw that I'm still trying to resolve. When my stove was installed I immediately discovered that all four burner grates were defective. The four supports of each grate are uneven so that a pot placed on the grate first rests on the highest support and then tilts and rocks around unstable as the other three supports are not at the same height. This is unsafe and a pot will slide off the grate.
I contacted Whirlpool and was able to explain the problem. Four more burner grates were sent to me. While I waited for those, having found a 100% defect rate with my stove, I checked around town and found the same model stove at a big box store on display. I went to see it and discovered it also had four defective burner grates -- same problem. That's eight burner grates inspected and a 100% defect rate.
My new grates arrived likewise with three of the four grates defective -- same problem. As an added twist one of the two boxes was damaged (run over by truck?) and one of the grates was smashed. I assume it would have otherwise been defective. That was fortunate because it gave me a reason to take the grates to the shop where I bought the stove and based on the damage their service department has ordered me yet another set of burner grates.
So far having been able to examine eleven burner grates the defect rate remains 100%. I am convinced that Whirlpool is unable to manufacture these grates so that they're not defective and I expect I will soon receive four more defective grates. The defect is variable with some of the grates being ridiculously uneven while others aren't so bad. My plan then is to select the best from the ten I will eventually have and apply needed force to correct/improve them so that they are at least safe. I shouldn't have to do that. Otherwise it's a nice stove and I hope I'll be able to make full use of it soon.

We bought this to fit into a small kitchenette in our cabin, and paid a significant premium because of the unique size. The oven works great. Made biscuits, and temp seemed to be accurate and no hot spots. The stove top feels a little cheap. The grates feel a little flimsy, and the burners don't offer much adjustment. Feels like you get extra high or low with minimal in-between. All-in-all it's a good fit for where we needed it, but for the $ (compared to a standard size stove/oven), I think the stove top could have used a little more refinement.

We put this in a tiny kitchenette in a new apartment built into our barn. Overall, this is a great unit for that purpose. The oven works great, and seems to cook evenly without any hot spots. The stove is nice. My only complaints are that the burners aren't very adjustable. It's hard to dial in anything but high or low. Also, the grates are pretty flimsy. They could be a little heavier to better support smaller pots/skillets.

Nice stove. Very happy with the window. Changed it to propane myself no problem. Metal grates ok would be nice if they offered cast iron. And also a clock/ timer. Compared to other 20™ stoves I recommend this one.

Poor design and non-quality manufacturing.
Design flaws:
1) Dials for burners have temperature display settings written below the dials. This makes it impossible to view the temperature settings as you stand over the stove to cook. One must constantly bend over to view where to adjust the temperature.Frustrating!
2) Stovetop gratings are slippery and have minimal surface area to support and grip pans and pots. Pots and pans often slip off the gratings and to the side or front of the stove. This is DANGEROUS as someone frying with hot oil can become burned if the pan slips off the stove. A child could easily grab and pull such a pan on top of himself/herself easily since it readily slides without any grip/friction between pan and grating and will cause a trajedy to that child.
Non-Quality Manufacturing:
1) Bottom door broiler does not completely close as it appears to be hinged in a skewed manner causing one corner to protrude out and not seal properly against oven frame.

Just have the range a little over a month. My auto-ignition is already not auto anymore; it is inconsistent in its lighting. There is a paint chip on the side of the range that arrived with the range. And if you should shake your pan on the burner grate, you risk scratching that black paint off, as I have done. Poor finishes and electronics.

Our old cabin stove worked fine, but with the cost of propane increasing we questioned the sense of burning propane 24/7 via the pilot for the stovetop and oven. There were three, now there are none. Not only can we read the temperature controls, we have a broiler that works, and the cost and odor of propane pilots burning is gone.

this oven does not work properly. You set it at 325 and it goes up to 385 or higher burning the food. Whirlpool has sent a company out by the name of Paradise who claims the oven works properly, it does not

We have had the same 20 inch stove here in our cabin for 33 years and it was time to upgrade. This little Amana is the perfect replacement, fits perfectly, and it has some improved features for us, a window into the oven, an interior light, and electronic ignition instead of the pilot lights we've been smelling for years. Also the conversion from natural gas to LP fuel was quite easy with the included instructions, had it running in no time.

We bought this a couple of months ago to replace a similar unit that had been in our cabin for 50+ years. It is so nice not having to deal with pilot lights. Installation was easy, including converting it to propane. Very clear instructions. Getting the flames adjusted is a little touchy, but not difficult. It works well, and the oven works better than the old unit. Couldn't be happier.

I live in a 1950's bungalow with a small kitchen. In order to have more counter space I opt for a Compact Range. I am very pleased with my Amana 20" Range. It is the ONLY one on the market with an oven window & light and it is easy to clean the stove top. The only thing I don't like is that the burners don't produce an even flame... the flame is always higher on one side regardless of the flame size. Small irritation, so I can recommend this cute little range to you if size is an issue in your kitchen.
